The Best Walks Right on Our Doorstep
There’s no shortage of beautiful places to explore around here! Whether you prefer gentle rambles or adventurous hikes, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Here are a few of our personal favorites:
- Lumsdale Valley: Just a short trip from us, this peaceful valley is full of surprises. With ancient ruins, babbling streams, and lovely woodland paths, it’s a magical spot for you and your dog to discover.
- Matlock Bath to High Tor: This scenic route offers breathtaking views of the Derwent Valley. You’ll climb up to High Tor, a dramatic limestone cliff, before winding your way back down through Matlock Bath – a great walk with plenty of photo opportunities.
- Chatsworth Estate Grounds: If you fancy a longer day out, Chatsworth House is only about 20 minutes away. The expansive parkland and riverside paths are perfect for a leisurely stroll, and dogs on leads are welcome.
- Black Rocks: For those who enjoy a challenge, Black Rocks near Cromford offers dramatic views and a short but steep hike. Your pup will love the mix of forest trails and rocky terrain!
